About the Exhibition

Traveling Exhibition
60 paintings and works on paper; industrial artifacts; interactive component featuring oral histories and other audio and video from the documentary, and music from the NewLanders (see below). Comprehensive educational materials, including lesson plans and marketing materials will be available to all venues.

Catalogue
Featuring reproductions of all works in the Museum’s industrial collection; an essay on the artists and art historical significance of the collection; a second essay on devastation and renewal contributed by Joel A. Tarr and Edward K. Muller, both noted scholars from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, respectively; artist biographies; and complete checklist.

Music CD
12 newly arranged songs by the NewLanders originating from themes based on the industrial heritage of the southwestern Pennsylvania region, updated for today’s audiences.

Documentary
A 90-minute film that will present the region’s industrial heritage in the context of the art, music and traditions of the time.

Space Required
A secure space of approximately 2,400 square feet or 300 running feet.
